Our History

Welcome to The Lodge at Great Falls — a classic 1950s motor lodge thoughtfully restored with modern comfort while preserving its original character and laid-back charm.


Locally owned and owner operated, The Lodge has been carefully brought back to life with updates designed to create a comfortable, affordable, and relaxing stay while honoring the property’s nostalgic roots.


As part of The Lodge's restoration, we've invested in a 72-panel solar array that now supplies a significant portion of the property's electricity as we work toward becoming a net-zero destination. By blending historic character with modern efficiency, we're creating a more comfortable, sustainable place to stay for every guest.

Each room has been refreshed with care, blending vintage character with modern conveniences to make your stay comfortable and easy. To help keep rates affordable, all reservations are processed through convenient self check-in.

The story behind the lodge

Hi, I'm Dan, and welcome to The Lodge at Great Falls.


In 2024, I purchased this classic 1950s motor lodge with a vision of creating a place where guests could enjoy clean, comfortable accommodations while preserving the character that makes roadside motels unique. Since then, I've been continually updating the property—from renovated rooms and modern amenities to new landscaping, improved common spaces, and a large solar installation—to make every stay even better.


Whether you're visiting Vermont's Northeast Kingdom for outdoor adventure, a family getaway, business, or simply passing through, I hope you'll enjoy your stay and experience the hospitality that comes with a locally owned motel.
